With an area of approximately 116 metres square that include: a garden, kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. All the space was decorated with nicely furnished furnitures, bringing a more modern touch to the space yet still keep the user friendliness alive.
“We’ve evaluated the space and derived its four biggest advantages - a big gardan, high rood, good source of natural light, and a perfect rectangular floor” Our architects said
The garden area soon became the main focus of the architects, they have changed the original approach by moving the entrance to the side of the house - meaning that it would take the owner of the house a walk from the entrance, passing through the greenery of the garden, before getting into their house. This can allow the owner to have more relaxing and calming arrival

When deciding to renovate this old house, the owner wished to keep the structure of the house - where they used to live and grow up. For them, it is a place that carries many good memories about the family, where they have learned to love and now, where they store love that will be kept and passed on to the next generation.

The rusticity of the wooden furniture prompts the idea of renovation. The biggest disadvantage in renovating the house is that the rooms are now very dark, old and only have 1 floor. In return, the house has a rectangular area, large yard, high roof and a very good source of natural light. These are the starting points for the architect to paint the space of the new house.

Inside, the walls were removed, merging the old living room and dining room into a single open space. The original entrance was then converted into a Japanese-style kitchen.

Part of the ceiling was also removed, showing the original 4 metres high roof structure. "Although the ceiling is slightly lower in the kitchen, it is connected to the living room, giving the impression of a larger space," the architects said.

The original structure of the house was made up of small individual spaces, making natural lights less receivable. To combat this problem, a skylight was installed in the main bathroom, and the wooden front door was swapped for French glass doors.
